Hi, I’m Dongkyun Kim (김동균), an incoming Quantitative Researcher at Jump Trading, currently based in Chicago. I'm a recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where I majored in Artificial Intelligence. I was honored to receive the School of Computer Science Alumni Award for Undergraduate Excellence in 2025.

I completed my undergraduate thesis at CMU’s Generative Intelligence Lab, advised by Professor Jun-Yan Zhu, focusing on creative applications of computer vision and generative modeling.

Outside academia, I’ve led projects at multiple AI startups—ranging from AI-powered eye tracking to few-shot font generation as a founding engineer. I’ve also worked on AI for accessible healthcare, winning the ICCV CVAMD 2023 challenge on automated medical diagnosis, which was later featured in CMU News.

When I’m not building or optimizing things, I enjoy watching movies, climbing, and playing mind sports.

I’ve been lucky to have great mentors. If you’re a student or early-career, feel free to book a short chat with me. Happy to help!
